Te āheinga: The opportunity
The South Waikato district is undergoing rapid development growth and consequently an unprecedented building boom. In response, the South Waikato District Council is looking to expand its team of building officers to ensure it continues to deliver an effective and responsive service to the community. Our building control officers provide high quality, responsive building consent processing, inspection and certification services to ratepayers, public and external clients. Advising and assisting clients on building consent related matters, including the inspection of building work while working within the legislative framework of the Building Act and Resource Management Act.

He kōrero mōu: About you
You will demonstrate experience in a wide range of building control functions; including electronic processing of building consent applications and undertaking inspections out in the field. Possess a good level of current experience and technical building and /or engineering knowledge. Your ability to make sound decisions and your working knowledge of the Building Act and NZ Building Code will be crucial in this role.
Holding a Regulation 18 qualification detailed in the New Zealand Building (Accreditation of Building Consent Authorities) Regulations 2006 is desirable.
