Hastings District Council is seeking applications for a permanent full-time Building Team Leader - Residential. This is a key position is located within the Building Consents Team and the wider Planning and Regulatory Group.
This role is a new position that has been established to focus on leading and coordinating residential consent processing activities. It is expected that the role will also involve some processing of building consent applications and completing building inspections.
The preferred candidate is likely to have:
Prior leadership and people management experience in a building or related field, and a willingness to grow their leadership skills.
Well-developed written and oral communication skills, and advanced computer skills
Extensive work experience in architectural design or building practice, or prior experience in building control with a Local Authority.
Technical competency under the national competency assessment criteria for Building Officers, or working towards establishing competencies in residential building control.
A tertiary qualification in Building Control or a relevant/related tertiary qualification.
Applicants that do not hold an appropriate qualification may be considered for this position on the basis that you have relevant industry experience in architectural design or construction and will be prepared to enroll in a programme of study for an appropriate qualification. This will require you to be bonded to Hastings District Council for at least three years.
