Ashburton District Council provides services and support to a growing community of over 31,000 people. Our district spans the large area between the Rakaia to the Rangitata Rivers and from the sea up to the Alps.

With over 250 employees across all Council activities we have a diverse workforce dedicated to delivering excellent services to the community. Our Building Services team of 12 is proactive and continuously strive to achieve best practice standards in the last three years they have processed half a billion dollars worth of work!

What the job involves

As a Processor within our team, you'll provide expert advice in approving our building consents. With about 1000 consents processed annually, we offer a challenging and varied role that surpasses many other organisations.

Who are we looking for?

You'll be experienced and hold a qualification in the field of building design or construction at a New Zealand Qualification Authority (NZQA) framework level 6 or above, preferably with knowledge of the Building Code and Building Act. You'll need to be an excellent communicator with a strong customer focus who works well with a range of others to find solutions and be confident with mobile technology.
