Using the Building Officials Institute of NZ's comprehensive network, we utilise our in-depth knowledge of the industry and our established relationships across New Zealand and internationally to offer a specialised recruitment service.
JUMP TO:
Are you a qualified (Reg 18) Building Consent Processor looking for a change by joining a high performing team environment at Tasman District Council?
Or perhaps a Computer Savvy qualified and experienced Builder looking to get off the tools, or have qualifications toward QS, AT or CM (Quantity Surveying, Architectural Technology, Construction Management)?
This is an integral role within our Building Assurance team, responsible for assessment and processing of building consent applications and ensuring that building consent processes meet New Zealand's Building Code so our communities' buildings are safe, healthy and durable.
We understand that the building consents process can be complicated so you'll often be required to seek input from other areas of council such as planning, engineering services and natural hazards teams while also dealing with related building consent enquiries from our customers. You will ideally possess a sound working knowledge of relevant building statutes, regulations and standards.
You will also be someone who is committed to quality customer service, a team player and possess strong communication skills able to confidently provide technical building advice as a Duty Building Officer. These attributes will be complemented with a high degree of digital literacy and attention to detail. If you are excited by learning, we can also offer extensive professional building competency training.
This is a fabulous opportunity to join a performance and values-based organisation that invests in the development of its people and provides a great team environment where you can also contribute to the future prosperity of the Tasman Region. In return for the right experience and attributes, we can offer you negotiable hours of work, great collegial support, assistance with relocation, an attractive benefits package, flexible work arrangements, and a day off on your birthday.
