Peter Downey
Peter is a Certifying Plumber in New Zealand and a Licensed Plumber and Drainer in Queensland.
Peter has a New Zealand Certificate in Quantity Surveying. He is a member of BOINZ and Water New Zealand and an associate member of the Association of Hydraulic Services Consultants of Australia (AHSCA).
Peter is currently the Managing Director of Hydraulic Services Consultants NZ Limited, the company he founded in 1993.
The company delivers quality plumbing design solutions, with specific expertise in the high rise apartment market.
In addition, Peter has been at the forefront of delivering plumbing training to numerous organisations. Peter championed the introduction of Australian Standard plumbing into New Zealand, delivering hundreds of how-to seminars to plumbers, local governments and architects over the last 20 years.
Peter was an apprentice plumber in Ipswich, Queensland, Australia which then lead to Peter becoming a Plumber and Drainer on various construction sites across Australia and New Zealand.
Peter was previously a cost manager for a large UK mechanical ductwork installation company in London. Peter was also a Construction Manager for A E Smith in Queensland, as well as an estimator and manager for a large Queensland plumbing company.
